Material & Assembly
Metric Lockers (in standard configurations) have been tested and conform to the requirements of the British Standard for Clothes Lockers BS 4680:1996 ‘Standard Duty’.

A "Standard" or "General Duty" Locker is a locker, of predominantly steel components and construction, which is designated as suitable for use in well supervised dry-area environments, such as schools, colleges, hospitals, offices, retail outlets, manufacturing and industrial facilities. Standard steel lockers fulfil this classification.

General specification

Constructed for strength and durability, the locker features sides, backs and shelves manufactured from 0.5 mm gauge cold-rolled mild steel, assembled using a robust riveted construction method. The door frame is produced from heavier 1.0 mm gauge cold-rolled mild steel, precision formed and welded to ensure rigidity, then securely riveted to the main body. Door panels are fabricated from 0.7 mm gauge cold-rolled mild steel and incorporate a 0.6 mm gauge vertical reinforcement section, welded in place for added strength. Each door is further enhanced with a fully strengthened perimeter edge, formed as an open box section, along with additional vertical reinforcement to maximise stability and resistance to impact*. *Door strengthener not needed on some products. 

Steel 5 knuckle butt hinges are welded to the door for added strength. Hinge Grade: CS4 EN 1935:2002 Grade 12. Hinge Weight Loading 11.5kg. Rivets are used to attach each hinge to the frame, which allows for replacement of damaged doors.

Air vent system on each door, not available on some products due to small door size.

Durability of finishes

Standard Lockers are designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of interior use, in environments which are predominantly dry and with low humidity. They are not suitable for exterior use, nor for interior use in locations which are predominantly damp or with a high humidity level - in changing areas adjacent to swimming pools or shower areas, for example.

FIREZERO tested and certified

Probe Steel Products are tested and approved in line with the European Standard - EN 13501-1: 2007 +A1: 2009 relating to fire performance. All Probe steel products have been tested as ‘non-combustible’ i.e. they will not combust, increase or sustain any fire within their proximity.

Probe Type A Cam Lock

Probe’s standard lock has a micro sprung 10-disc lock featuring a massive 3000 serial combinations - all exclusive to Probe. Two keys are included with each standard lock.

Probe Type B Hasp & Staple Lock

Attractive design allowing easy use of padlock fitting. Shank diameter maximum 7mm and minimum 5mm. Padlock sold separately. Available to purchase separately if you need to change your existing lock.

Probe Type L Digital Combination Lock

Digital combination lock with 40,000 combinations. Simple to program, battery operated lock which can last up to 50,000 operations before needing changing. Emergency access using master key purchased separately.
Supplied as standard in single user mode but can be reprogrammed for public use (multi-user) mode. 

Probe Type N Nimbus RFID Lock

The Nimbus RFID digital lock provides contactless locking and is compatible with RFID standards and incorporates a membrane touchpad for ease of programming. The keypad can also be used to override the lock when required. Supplied as standard in single user mode but can be reprogrammed for public use (multi-user) mode. Includes one user card per lock and one master programme card per order.

Probe Type P Mechanical Combination Lock

An effective 4 digit code combination lock with 10,000 possible combinations, making losing keys a thing of the past. Supplied with code preset to 3333. Users can change and manage their own code. Private single user mode only. Master code find/reset key available to purchase separately.

Probe Type SPR Auto Scramble Combination Lock

Private (single user) auto scramble mechanical combination lock with 10,000 possible combinations. Automatically scrambles to 0000 when opened and closed. Users can change and manage their own code making keys a thing of the past. Master code find/reset key available to purchase separately.

Probe Type SPU Auto Scramble Combination Lock

Public (multi-user) auto scramble mechanical combination lock with 10,000 possible combinations. Automatically scrambles to 0000 when opened and closed. Resets after every use for the next user. Master code find/reset key available to purchase separately.

Master key
You have the option of purchasing a master key which will open any of the locker doors on your order.

Door numbering & Keyring Options

Probe lockers are supplied with black plastic card holder surrounds which can hold a small square card. Identify your locker compartments by choosing a number sequence for your lockers.

Split-ring keyrings
Choose a numbered keyrings to match keys to locks.

Nesting bolts
If you plan to install your lockers side by side, you can bolt the lockers together for a flush, neat finish. The Lockers come with pre-drilled holes in the carcass ready for installation. Available in packs of 25.

UK Mainland delivery included to business addresses only.
Delivery will be approximately 20 working days from receipt of your order. This schedule may vary, please check prior to placing your order.
We provide delivery free of charge to UK mainland business addresses only and we can do this by supplying to you on a non-time specified schedule. This means that we will advise you of your delivery on a week ending basis and your order will be delivered during that week within normal business hours.
Delivery will be to your confirmed delivery address roadside/kerbside or loading bay area only and is subject to there being no delivery vehicle access restrictions and our delivery service does not include taking your ordered items into the building. All products are delivered on unmarked vehicles and will be delivered on the most economical size of vehicle in accordance with the size of order and we ask that you specify any delivery access restrictions in advance of placing your order as they will possibly affect the vehicle required for delivery and the price quoted.
Unfortunately, we are unable to leave deliveries if there is no one at the delivery address to take receipt. Should this happen, we will contact you to rearrange delivery, but we may have to charge for this redelivery.
Products are not delivered on pallets. Products are supplied plastic shrink wrapped only. Other than collections all goods will be delivered to the nearest point of entry only.

Manufacturer's Warranty
This product is covered by a Limited Manufacturer Warranty which covers defects in materials and workmanship. Locker body, shelves, doors and hinges are covered for 7 years whilst all other items including locks are subject to the standard 12-month warranty, from the date of delivery or installation.

Returns
Please ensure that the size you select is suitable for the purposes you require in advance of placing an order as all products are manufactured to customer order and once we start manufacturing, we cannot accept returns or cancellations.
